Come to the Fair is a series of SX70 Polaroid images takes at some of the County fairs in Meath and Cavan over a two-year period. Fairs visited were Girley Fair, Moynalty Steam Threshing, Mullagh Fair, Nobber Fair and Scurlogstown Hay Making Festival.

The effect on these images is made by hand. The emulsion of the SX70 Polaroid film stays fluid for a short while after exposure so using the lid of BIC pen or an embossing tool I pushed and etched the emulsion creating an impressionistic effect.

Come to the Fair was my first solo exhibition and was shown in the foyer of the Diamond Cinema Complex in Navan, County Meath in 2007.

Some of these images appear in Fair Days, a zine that was published in 2023.
