Suella Wynne is an Irish photographic artist whose work addresses dissociation, repetition, manipulation, long-silenced issues of childhood abuse and, ultimately, hope. She has a strong interest in crafts and combines stitching with her photographs to non-verbally communicate subjects that are difficult to express in words.
She is a Board Member of The Darkroom, Dublin, a member of Visual Artists Ireland and has received bursaries from Meath and Cavan County Councils. She works in publishing and holds an MFA in Photography from Ulster University.
In 2023 she was nominated for a PhotoIreland RADAR Award and a Star Photobook Dummy Award and in 2024 she received a Cavan Arts Professional Artist Award. A Joining of Self has recently been published in Source Photographic Review and was published by PhotoIreland TLP Editions as a limited edition zine. Suella’s new work will be published in Arts to Hearts Magazine in late 2024.
Solo/Collaborative works: A Joining of Self (2023/24), An Act of Madness (2019/20), Welcome to Graceland (2019/20), 2017/18); Stories that Remain Untold (2015); An Essence of Presence and Come to the Fair (2007)
